Sean O’Malley is quite intrigued by the rematch between Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan.

Sterling captured the UFC Bantamweight Championship in his first fight with Yan, although the end result wasn’t what he envisioned. The two collided back in March 2021 inside the UFC Apex. Yan landed an illegal knee to the face of a downed Sterling. Yan was disqualified as a result and Sterling was crowned the new 135-pound champion.

Sean O’Malley Glued To TV For Aljo-Yan 2

During episode 58 of BROMALLEY, Sean O’Malley discussed what went down before the DQ during the first fight between Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan.

“It was weird though because it didn’t seem like Aljo was actually doing any damage. He had very high output, Petr had really good defense. That’s just kinda his style. Who knows how he was feeling. If he could keep that pace that entire 25 minutes, Petr didn’t really have an answer too much for that chaotic [style]. He just had good defense, wasn’t getting [hit], landed a couple of shots here and there. I don’t know, I’m super interested in that fight.”

Daniel O’Malley stunned Sean on the show when he told him that Yan is a huge betting favorite.

“Jesus. You gonna bet some money on Aljo?”

Sterling vs. Yan 2 will serve as the co-main event of UFC 273 on April 9. The title fight will go down inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Headlining the card will be a featherweight title fight between champion Alex Volkanovski and the “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.
