Satoshi Ishii is out of Strikeforce Challengers, could be moved to the April 9th card

Earlier this morning I had a complete reading comprehension fail and didn’t notice the press release sent out by Strikeforce involved Satoshi Ishii. Initially, I thought some amateur fighter dropped out of the Stockton, CA event and was replaced with the undefeated Lorenz Larikin. However, now that ZUFFA has put an end to amateurs competing on Strikeforce cards, this was an impossible scenario. Satoshi Ishii is officially off the Strikeforce Challengers card this April 1st solely because he could not acquire a work visa in time due to the tragedy in Japan. The main event will now feature Scott Lighty vs. Lorenz Larkin.

Nightmare of Battle claims that Satoshi Ishii may be moved to the April 9th card in San Diego, which will already serve as host to a plethora of Japanese fighters. In somewhat related news, Satoshi Ishii did an interview with a Japanese women’s magazine and talked about how he felt a sense of serenity and growth after being married in college and divorced in just over a year. You have just received two Satoshi Ishii stories in one. Today is the equivalent of two-in-one shampoo. [Source]
