BJJ Specialist Ryan Hall Submits BJ Penn Via Nasty Heel Hook
Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist Ryan Hall squared off against legendary former UFC champion B.J. Penn in the preliminary portion of the UFC 232 PPV event tonight (Sat., Dec. 29, 2018) from inside the Forum in Inglewood, California. Hall set up a nasty heel hook up on Penn that forced former champ to tap out.
In the opening round, Penn pressuring Hall against a fence and landed a right hand. Referee separated them. Hall threw his unusual set of kicks, but one of them caused him slips off balance. Penn throws kick at Halls legs while he was on the canvas. Hall got back to his feet. Ryan suddenly set up a brilliant heel hook, and it produced an instant-tap from Penn, who was limping after a submission.
After tonight’s victory Hall becomes the first man to submit Penn in MMA competition. Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion BJ Penn extended his losing streak to six now.
