RVCA and Clinch Gear are now banned from UFC

Well now we can all agree that those Dan Henderson UFC negotiations aren’t looking too bright. After UFC 105, the organization has banned Clinch Gear from being a sponsor in the UFC. With Sokoudjou rocking Dan Henderson’s staple gear, it’s rumored that the hammer was thrown down shortly after Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers. The ban hammer has also been struck down on RVCA. Although the company hasn’t officially confirmed it, it looks like UFC has banned RVCA (sponsor of BJ Penn and Vitor Belfort) after they designed Fedor Emelianenko’s walkout shirt for his Strikeforce debut a couple weeks ago.

No sponsors for fighters (including the UFC lightweight champion) means a little less cash to stuff in their pocket after the fight. It also means that we will be seeing a lot more skulls, fire and weird angel wings on fighters as they walk out to the octagon. RVCA was one of the two MMA clothing companies in the UFC to drop some contemporary design knowledge on the MMA world. The other clothing company sponsors this site. Hopefully Jaco Clothing can dodge the infamous UFC ban hammer and if not, they can hire Koji Oshi to knock it into orbit. [Source]
