The Rehab Center In Russia Forced Alcoholics And Drug Addicts To Take Part in Arranged Matches To Overcome Their Addictions!

Omsk region is one of the greatest areas in the Russian Federation. It is located in the southwestern part of Siberia. But here’s a dark secret – an unauthorized rehab center on the outskirts of Omsk city, found in 2017, forced its patients to fight each other!

Dozens of former alcoholics and drug addicts were promised treatment for their bad habits and behavior, but they were forced to take part in arranged combats instead!

According to the report from Komsomolskaya Pravda, the bouts took part whenever the addicts were perceived of “wrongdoings”. Combats were stopped as soon as one patient asked for mercy or drew first blood. If patients refused to fight, they were threatened by gas pistols (non-lethal, but very similar to real guns)!

Patients who took part in arranged matches did not receive any medical assistance. For example, despite one of the addicts suffered a broken nose, he was not allowed to undergo a medical examination.

Many patients were held in isolation, and they could not communicate with the outer world.

But, according to an official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, patients who followed rules and showed good behavior received rewards – pharmaceutical pills and potent medical preparations. A large number of these items were sent to further examination.

Despite controversial bouts, the relatives of addicts trapped inside continued to pay for their rehabilitation process every month, unaware of what was happening behind the brick walls! The Investigative Committee of Russia launched a criminal case investigation for “unlawful deprivation of liberty”. It could lead to a five-year prison sentence.
