Rumors: What the hell is going on with the health of Max Holloway?

Bless up Max Holloway. UFC 226 is long and gone but the shadow of Max remains.

UFC 226 was such a great event that the MMA world got up and forgot that Holloway pulled out of his title fight with what amounts to undisclosed brain issues. Anytime an injury involves the brain, you know that part of the body that can never heal, it gets scary.

So ummm what is going on with Max Holloway and his overall health? Some crazy ass rumors have been floated that are probably total (number one) bullshit but other more other logically explanations have also been mentioned.

When we last heard from Max, he was penning the realest break-up later we’ve ever read.

Right in the feels.

Smaller story but I’m sure you’ve been following it, Michael Bisping may have saved Holloway’s long-term health with his now infamous call-out of the champion.

Sources have whispered that Holloway may never be the same fighter if he ever returns the cage. This was the type of injury that could put a person’s whole life into perspective. More than possible “water poisoning” rumors, more than getting knocked out silly by one of your sparring partners during camp type rumors.

Type of rumor you don’t want to believe could be/maybe are true.

If sources close to the situation had to bet? It may be more likely that Max Holloway retires from MMA, maybe a two year sabbatical, rather than a triumphant return to action. Still only 26-years-old, this is another reminder that MMA is not a sport it is a fight.

Get well and take care of yourself Max.
