Rumor: Wanderlei Silva vs. Sexyama at UFC 108

Like most things in this universe, all of this started with Tim Kennedy. Yesterday, Sherdog had Tim Kennedy on the radio pretending like he never hit up Cafe Risque. I told the guys at Sherdog to relay a message that a stripper/breakfast waitress wanted us to get out to him. It wasn’t the Maury Povich ‘You are the father of the child’ stuff, just more along the lines of ‘Hey, remember me?’ (which actually has all the necessary ingredients to be Maury Povich worthy). Sherdog joked that I probably got some type of incurable disease from eating the omelet (which they’re probably right) but the show just ended, the question was never asked. Bummer. One day we’ll corner Tim Kennedy with a microphone and ask him if we can kick it with him the next time he goes to Cafe Risque. In the meantime, we’ll just eat our french toast (with a side of lapdance).

Later that day, the Sherdog guys broke the rumor (via Luke Thomas from Bloody Elbow) that Wanderlei Silva will be banging against Yoshirio Akiyama at UFC 108. The rumor decided to lace up it’s New Balance and run a little when Bloody Elbow reported that Akiyama was now training at Xtreme Couture with Shawn Tompkins. Things started to look, ugh, sexy for Sexyama. It’s tough for a guy to call another guy a nickname that begins with ‘Sexy’ but when you can rock a snakeskin belt with a leather fedora…you pretty much have to.

This morning it’s now being reported that a fight between Wanderlei Silva and Sexyama is a definite possibility for UFC 108. Damn. We could have told you that last night but we were entirely too busy watching Chuck Liddell do his ‘fierce’ tango on Dancing with the Stars. If three years ago you told me that Liddell would be doing the tango on national television I would have said…’Where did you get that time machine? Let me try it out.’ [Source]
