Rumble Johnson missed weight again but its even more confusing than you think it is

The last time I had to weigh in the day before a fight, I made weight then headed straight to Burger King and feasted on a large everything with a side of meat sweats. That’s possibly the best fast food experience I’ve ever had. Making weight sucks even more than getting knocked out, although I guess that depends on how much weight you have to cut and also the manner in which you get KO’d though. I wish I could skip weigh ins though, just turn up at whatever weight I happened to be at then go fight the next day. From a fan’s perspective, that seems to be what Anthony “Rumble” Johnson does. After failing to make weight three times in the UFC and being cut after he moved up to middleweight and still came in over weight, Rumble signed with Titan FC and will face Dave Branch at a previously agreed 185lbs.

The twist in the story here is pretty obvious. Rumble weighed in at 194.4lbs for what is now being billed as a catchweight fight and gives up $4000 from his purse to his opponent for missing the middleweight limit of 186lbs. When signing for Titan FC Johnson publicly stated he was fighting exclusively at middleweight and was very confident he could make 185lbs regularly. As of this moment, we have no idea if Johnson’s kidney problems are to blame, only that Anthony Johnson and Dave Branch will face off at a catchweight of 195lbs in the main event of Titan FC tonight. Maybe it’s time from Johnson to give Mike Dolce a call? Personally, I’m not sure that Burger King would have been so awesome if I’d just had to give up $4000 from my purse, so I’ll probably just stick to cutting weight. [source]
