Rose Namajunas

Rose Namajunas In Light Spirits Following UFC 237 Loss

“Thug” Rose Namajunas may not the be UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion anymore. That does not stop her from staying positive about her situation.

Following her UFC 237 title loss to Jessica Andrade, Rose expressed the same upbeat attitude she is known for. However, she did mention thoughts of retirement from MMA. Since then, she has not yet spoken further on those emotions. She did take to Instagram though, to share a lighthearted approach to the situation.

That’s the last time I let @danawhite pick my walk out song 😑 Thank you Brazil I will never forget this experience 🙏🏼

Rose Namajunas’ manager Brian Butler further clarified on the situation.

So there were technical difficulties for @rosenamajunas walk out songs her past 2 fights so when the @ufc asked what she wanted this time she said she didn’t care and to have @danawhitepick the song… well played #thugrose😂 *She is in good spirits 🙏🏼

“Thug” Rose experienced a fairly brutal loss, via slam. However, up until the point that happened, she was dominating the action. It could be a reasonably competitive fight if there was an immediate rematch. However it is unclear if that is what Rose wants. Beyond expressing the desire to retire, she mentioned that losing the belt was a weight off her shoulders.

It is no secret that Rose Namajunas is a very emotional young lady. The pressure of a title might be too much for her right now. No matter what, she is an exceptional talent, and a formidable force at 115lbs.
