Ronda Rousey Finalizing Her Career Move To WWE

Ronda Rousey’s UFC career effectively ended last year, when she was knocked by Amanda Nunes inside 48 seconds in the first round at UFC 207.

Ronda Rousey’s move in the WWE appears to be imminent. The WWE has been licking its lips in anticipation of signing Rousey ever since her failed UFC comeback last year.

Rousey was at a WWE show in September, and she was supporting her best friend Shayna Baszler, a former mixed martial artist at the Mae Young Classic in Las Vegas now making waves with the WWE. During the event, Rousey was caught in a stare down with leading women’s wrestler Charlotte Flair, in which Rousey issued a challenge: “You name the time, you name the place.”

Two people close to Rousey told USA TODAY Sports that she is finalizing details of her move to WWE. Names were kept anonymous as per request since the news hasn’t been announced yet.

Triple H said to ESPN.

“First of all, [Ronda Rousey]’s got to stop throwing me around the ring. The last time I was in the ring with her, Ronda threw threw me from one side to the other. I didn’t like that very much. Ronda is a huge fan. That’s not been a secret, that’s where the ‘Rowdy’ Ronda comes from. She’s definitely interested and we’re having conversations. I’ll say it right here on ESPN, if she wants the opportunity [to wrestle for the WWE] I’d be willing to give it to her.“First things first, she has the passion. She’s loved this business for a long time. She’s enamored with it. She’s enamored with the entertainment component of it and the physicality of it. If it’s something she wants to do, I think she’d be great at it because she would dedicate herself just like she has to everything else in her life.”

After her best friend Shayna Baszler win, the fire started blazing after it seemed like they were beginning an angle with WWE’s Four Horsewomen (consisting of Ronda, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir) taking on Charlotte Flair’s Four Horsewomen (Flair, Becky Lynch, Bailey, and Sasha Banks).

The most recent news was that she was training for a big match at the WWE’s Performance Center. WrestleMania 34 takes place in New Orleans on April 8th. After such a long built up-WWE sure coming up with something huge featuring Rousey.

Are you excited to see Ronda Rousey in the ring?
