Rumor: Ronda Rousey Wouldn’t Re-sign With WWE If They Hire UFC Star Cris Cyborg

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey Won’t Sign A New Contract With WWE If They Bring In The Former UFC Champ Cris Cyborg

One thing is common in both Ronda Rousey, and Cris Cyborg is that they were UFC champions and dominated their respective weight class for a long time.

Currently, Rousey is pursuing her career in professional wrestling. Meanwhile, Cyborg is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Amanda Nunes (who also defeated Ronda Rousey before) at UFC 232 last December- her first loss in 13 years.

That’s the fight that UFC always wanted to book for fight fans however it never came to fruition.

What’s next for Cyborg is still in the air. She’s few fights left in her UFC contract, and if promotion didn’t come up with a better plan for her, she has already hinted in the past moving to a WWE or boxing. She also said WWE is a place where’d get a chance to face Rousey albeit in a ring for a scripted match.

It’s clear that UFC has no plan to extend women’s featherweight class and Cyborg is well aware of this situation. She also said she wants to stay but quite unsure if UFC will invest in the division.

Last month Justino visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida leading to speculation over a potential roll in with the company. You can check her pics below.

In her recent interview with MMAFighting, Cyborg also addressed her visit to WWE Performance Center.

There were rumors run rampant earlier this month that after WrestleMania 35 in April Rousey is leaving the WWE to start a family, but company quells those running mouths saying that former UFC champ Rousey is contracted until 2021.

Rousey earned her first WWE title last summer, and interestingly Cyborg congratulated her for victory.

According to Terez Owens report, Rousey confronted her employer WWE that if they implant Cris Cyborg, she won’t extend her contract with the company.

“This comes to us via our tip box. Rumor Ronda is refusing to resign with the WWE if they bring Cris Cyborg into the storyline. Owens reported this week. “Sources say with the WWE’s interest cooling that Team Cyborg has recently been approached about making her in-ring debut with All Elite Wrestling. I hope this happens, she might make the best MMA star turned pro wrestler ever.”

It’s quite apparent both UFC stars don’t like each other despite they never met inside the Octagon. But threatening to quit WWE is something very childish from Rousey if those rumors are to be true.
