Road FC’s A Sol Kwon says he would beat Anthony Pettis, and that he’s a better trash talker than Chael Sonnen

Some of you may remember Korea’s A Sol Kwon from such fights as ‘Dude, I get kicked in the crotch, so let me give the middle finger to the entire audience and then viciously knock my opponent out‘ and ‘Oh yeah, that’s the guy from the first ONE FC.’

A Sol Kwon has been on a two-year layoff from MMA but now he’s slated to face Nam Yui Chul in his debut with Korea’s Road FC. CorMMA recently caught up with Kwon on his upcoming fight, and not only did he say he could beat Anthony Pettis if they fought, but he also believes he’s a better talker than Chael Sonen

I realized if I tried 100% in training that I could beat Anthony Pettis. I really think if we fought, I would beat Anthony Pettis. I did decide to retire before I enlisted in the army, but MMA is like a drug. I am addicted to the cheers of the fans. I actually thought of doing something else, but I had no real options other than becoming a thief. MMA is my destiny.

If I go 100%, I can beat Anthony Pettis. I can even talk better than Chael Sonnen. The most important aspect of a fighter is his skill. That is Nam Yui Chul, but he has no popularity. Does it make sense that the champion is not popular? Imagine if A Sol Kwon became champion. I have skills and I know how to market myself. I am very smart on top of that. This is the big difference between Nam Yui Chul and me. Everyone will curse me, but that is the truth. For the evolution of Korean Mixed Martial Arts, I have to become champion.

If you read the entire interview then you’ll realize that A Sol Kwon is basically the Nick Diaz of Korean MMA. Props to Hufusopem for the find. Also, if A Sol Kwon was a single object, how would you refer to him?
