Damn Vitor Belfort is getting knocked out on Saturday night, isn’t he? When did our young dinosaur become an old lion and when is old the real new again?
At UFC 224 Belfort will have first, and maybe last, retirement fight. On Oct. 11, 1996 Belfort made his MMA debut at Super Brawl 2 and knocked out Jon Hess in 12 seconds. Three months later Belfort made his UFC debut at UFC 12 and won a four man heavyweight tournament, beating Tra Telligman and Scott Ferrozzo in a combined 120 seconds of cage time.
Vitor Belfort is old y’all. The 41-year-old Brazilian has seen the rise, the fall, the death and rebirth of MMA in the span of one career.
Be kind to him on Saturday night Lyoto Machida.
