Although UFC has yet to announce the bout officially, however, there is news that UFC is holding a press conference on April 6 before the UFC 223 weigh-in ceremony in Brooklyn. Garbrandt posted on social media:
“See you soon Brooklyn!!”
Dillashaw who won the UFC bantamweight title at UFC 217 last November, via second-round knockout over former teammate Cody Garbrandt. Soon after the loss, Cody wished for an immediate rematch, which Dillashaw wasn’t too keen to give out, and was heavily campaigning for a super fight with top-pound-for-pound flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and was willing to move down in weight.
UFC president Dana White shut down the idea of the super fight late last month and apparently pushed for Cody vs. Dillashaw rematch.
Garbrandt (11-1) has won six fights in the UFC, while Dillashaw is a two-time bantamweight champion, held the title from 2013 to 2016 when he lost it to Dominick Cruz.
