Report: Luke Rockhold Vs. Chris Weidman Rematch Finalized For UFC 230

Luke Rockhold Vs. Chris Weidman Will Fight At UFC 230 In New York

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold have come to terms with UFC for Chris Weidman fight at UFC 230 in New York on November 3.

Luke Rockhold (@LukeRockhold) has informed me he and the UFC have come to terms for the Chris Weidman (@chrisweidman) fight on 11/3 in NYC. Fight was basically agreed to, but Rockhold needed to speak to UFC about his deal. That’s done, and he anticipates signing shortly.

That’s exciting news for fight fans, who were anticipating their rematch of UFC 194, where Rockhold defeated Weidman via fourth-round TKO to score the middleweight title. Promotion may found the main-event of UFC 230 in the picture of Weidman vs. Rockhold 2, as Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz slated for a co-main event.

Rockhold (16-4) didn’t compete since February and currently nursing a shin injury that he suffered back in May that required stitching. He lost two out of his last three bouts.

Weidman has only competed three times since his loss to Rockhold. After back to back defeats to Yoel Romero and Gegard Mousasi, ‘All American’ got back onto winning column via a third-round submission win over Kelvin Gastelum back in July of 2017. Then sideline himself for almost over a year with a thumb injury.

UFC 230 live on pay-per-view (PPV) is set to take place from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City on Nov. 3.
