This just in! Per sources – The wheels are officially in motion to have TJ Dillashaw vs. Demetrious Johnson co-headline UFC 226 on July 7 in Las Vegas.

Demetrious Johnson is currently recovering from shoulder surgery. His most recent fight was a fifth-round submission win over Ray Borg back in October. The flying armbar Johnson used to secure the tap from Ray Borg topped many “Best Submission of the Year” lists for 2017. “Mighty Mouse” extended his current win-streak to an insane 13-straight. Johnson (27-2) is the longest reigning champion in UFC history and is widely considered the best fighter in the world.

TJ Dillashaw, however, recently scored the UFC bantamweight title by defeating the Cody Garbrandt via second-round KO. After this win, Dillashaw moved onto a three-fight streak, as he’s also recently defeated top contenders Raphael Assuncao and John Lineker. He’s currently 15-3 in total.

Last year, Dillashaw expressed interest in dropping a weight class to challenge Demetrious Johnson’s title reign. Even he asserts he’ll be able to.

“I’m fighting Demetrious Johnson, the pound-for-pound best in the world, so if I’m gonna go out there and prove to them I’m the best fighter, I’ve gotta give myself my best chance and that’s to make the weight the right way, very scientifically and be on top of my game,” Dillashaw said on a recent episode of BJ Penn Radio.

Who do you think will come out victorious between two champs at UFC 226?
