Report: Demetrious Johnson Vs. Henry Cejudo Rematch Targeted For UFC 227

UFC flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson aka Mighty Mouse, is expected to face former Olympic wrestler Henry Cejudo for a rematch at UFC 227 on August 4th from Staples Center in Los Angeles, MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the news. Helwani also indicated that Jussier Formiga was also under consideration, but Cejudo was a top priority after TJ Dillashaw’s showdown failed to fruition.

Johnson last fought at UFC 216 where he picked up an incredible armbar win over Ray Borg, which gave him the all-time UFC record for consecutive title defenses (11), exceeding the legendary Anderson Silva. Mighty Mouse defeated Cejudo via first-round TKO at UFC 197 back in April 2016 in there first outing.

Cejudo is on a two-fight win streak; last fought at UFC 218 where he picked up a decision win over Sergio Pettis.

Before this, UFC did there utmost best to set a super-fight between the flyweight champion and bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, but it did not come to fruition. The talk of super-fight made rounds for past few months but UFC president Dana White told LA Times and scuttled the idea as Johnson was demanding for a $2 million payday for super fights.

UFC 227 is headlined by a bantamweight championship rematch between Cody Garbrandt and Tj Dillashaw.
