The UFC’s light heavyweight division still has a Jon Jones shaped cloud hovering above it; occasionally crashing into other clouds while it shadows over the roster. With 205-pound champion Daniel Cormier without a clear-cut number one contender, UFC 202’s co-main event fight between Anthony Rumble Johnson and Glover Teixeira became an uncrowned number one contender’s bout.
Rumble Johnson came into UFC 202 on the heels of two consecutive knockout wins over Ryan Bader and Jimi Manuwa respectively. To his credit, Teixeira had finished Rashad Evans, Patrick Cummins and Ovince Saint Preux in dramatic fashion when he stepped in the cage to face Rumble.
Then the fight started and Rumble straight stole Glover’s soul in less than 10 seconds. 10 seconds!!! Rumble hit him like a yoga mat.
