What a wild planet we live on. It looks like Rafael dos Anjos went from red panty night to Fight Pass from one bum foot. In any case, RDA will officially fight Eddie Alvarez for the Lightweight Championship on Thursday, July 7th.
We broke the rumor back on April Fool’s Day when Alvarez posted a picture of him training winks in the form of hashtags. Turns out it was true, but not on the “big” card.

The internet seems torn about it being on Fight Pass and also the choice of opponent. However, we finally have a true #1 contender actually fighting for a title. Not only that, but Alvarez boasts impressive wins over former UFC champ Anthony Pettis, Gilbert Melendez, Michael Chandler and Shinya Aoki who are all former champs in other organizations as well.
Either way, this fight will headline the Fight Night card which kicks off another insane three day blood sacrifice leading up to UFC 200.
