Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva confirmed for UFC 108

So it looks like we’re never going to get the ‘black on black crime‘ Rampage promised us when Rashad Evans stepped in the cage after Jackson’s impressive win over Keith ‘Technoviking‘ Jardine. As an alternative, we are going to get to see ‘Guy who’s only lost came by Machida KO vs. Guy who’s only lost came by Machida KO’: Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva. Now we finally have confirmation that this bout will take place at UFC 108 and that a small mushroom cloud will appear over the MGM Grand Garden Arena that night. If you really wanted to lose your money on January 2nd, then you should find your nearest Vegas bookie and throw down your mortgage payment on the odds of this fight ending in a submission. In fact, between their combined 30 fights, only one has ended in submission (and Thiago Silva just wanted to show Dave Dalgliesh another level of his rawesomification). Here’s my cliche of the week and then I promise I will never say it again: This is going to be a stand up war.

UFC 108 is really starting to get road trip worthy for all those that are looking for a reason to drop $20 on a Las Vegas buffet at 4am. Anderson Silva will defend the title against Vitor Belfort, Evans banging against Thiago, The Axe Murderer vs. Sexyama and Joe ‘I like to feed my friends frozen cheeseburgers‘ Lauzon going up against Sam Stout. All of this is going down Janurary 2nd which means you’ll probably still be hung over from the night before (inappropriate New Years office parties FTW). [Source]
