Quillan Salkilld stayed unbeaten in the UFC with the biggest win of his career at UFC Perth.
Salkilld knocked out Beneil Dariush in Saturday’s co-main event at RAC Arena, finishing the veteran lightweight at 3:29 of Round 1. Dariush dropped him early with a jab and tried to follow with grappling pressure, but Salkilld got back up, created space, and hurt Dariush with a fast punching combination.

Salkilld Answers A Bad Start With A Clean Finish
Salkilld is Quillan Zane Salkilld, an Australian lightweight from Western Australia. His professional MMA record is now 12-1, and he is 5-0 in the UFC with four finishes. Before joining the UFC, he earned a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series and held the Eternal MMA lightweight title.
Dariush entered with far more UFC experience. He is Beneil Khobier Dariush, an American lightweight, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and longtime ranked UFC contender. He was listed at No. 12 in the lightweight rankings earlier this year, and he owns a past win over Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 280.
That experience showed for a moment. Dariush landed first, dropped Salkilld, and tried to force a wrestling exchange. Salkilld defended, separated, and immediately changed the fight with pressure. Once Dariush started backing up, Salkilld kept landing until the referee stopped it.
After the win, Salkilld said he expected Dariush to wrestle and called for Gamrot.
“I knew he was going to wrestle,” Salkilld said. “We ended up having a bit of a scrap. Us Aussies are f*cking tough so it’s going to take a lot more than that to put us away. F*ck yeah.”
“I think [Mateusz] Gamrot had a good last fight, I’d like to have a tussle with him. I think that’s the next step up for me.”
For Dariush, the loss continues a rough stretch. He is now 1-4 in his past five fights, with all four losses coming by knockout, including his recent stoppage defeat to Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 322.
Salkilld did not need a long fight to prove he belongs in a bigger lightweight matchup. He got dropped, recovered, and stopped a proven contender before the first round ended. If the UFC wants to test him next against a ranked grinder, Gamrot already has plenty of relevant history in that lane.
