The Salty Shamrock Has Had Enough Of Conor McGregor Antics
Conor McGregor has spent a lot of time in the news lately, for all sorts of reasons that do not involve MMA. This is starting to lose him support, even from his Irish brethren.
McGregor has been involved in a slew of different incidents recently, from smashing a fan’s phone, to being under investigation for sexual assault. However most recently, footage surfaced of an incident inside an Irish pub. This latest incident has left fans unsure how to feel about the Irish superstar.
This footage stems from a situation that happened in April, although the video was just released. It depicts McGregor apparently buying a round of Proper 12 whiskey shots for all the patrons of a bar in Ireland. According to reports, when an older gentleman refused the shot of McGregor’s own whiskey, McGregor got upset. Subsequently, he sucker punched this man, hitting him with a left hook.
As previously stated, this is just the most recent footnote in a tale of misdeeds. However, this incident may just be what pushes some fans away for good. In fact, the owners of the Salty Shamrock, another bar in Ireland, feel pretty strongly about McGregor. They recently posted a video, pouring out all of McGregor’s whiskey. Additionally, they slam McGregor for misrepresenting their culture.
“Due to the recent cowardly and appalling behavior of the so-called Irish #MMA fighter #ConorMcGregor, the Salty Shamrock Irish Pub will no longer carry his product nor associate its business with his name. We will discard his whiskey I challenge every Irish bar owner to do same”
This is a pretty bold move from this bar, who is fed up with McGregor.
Moreover, it seems that the more Conor McGregor is out of the Octagon, and into trouble, the less popular he becomes. Will we see other bars stop selling Proper 12 whiskey?
