Jon Jones is continuing his pursuit to return to the Octagon, this time targeting UFC’s landmark White House card scheduled for June 14, 2026.
The former two-division champion briefly retired earlier this year after turning down a $30 million fight with Tom Aspinall, but the retirement lasted only weeks. Now, Jones is focused on facing light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira at the historic event.
Direct Appeal at Recent Event
Jones attended the recent DBX 4 event in Nashville, supporting teammate Gable Steveson, who scored a 15-second knockout victory. During the event, Jones delivered a heartfelt plea to UFC president Dana White, stating:
“I really hope it happens,” Jones told The Schmo ringside during the event. “Dana, bro. Please, bro. Please. I’m training, I’m feeling great, I’m healthy, and I’d be so honored to represent our country and do what I do best.”

Dana White has publicly expressed reservations about putting Jones on the card, citing his past unpredictability, including cancelled main events, withdrawn fights, and title disputes. The UFC president described the likelihood of Jones competing at the White House as “a billion to one.”
Despite these concerns, Jones continues to push for the opportunity, emphasizing his readiness and commitment to a historic fight.
Jones remains one of MMA’s most decorated athletes, known for dominating two divisions and building a legacy many consider among the sport’s greatest. He highlighted that, beyond the spectacle, fighting at the White House would be a moment of personal and national pride.
Even with previous controversies and interruptions, Jones insists he is fully healthy and eager to showcase his skills on one of the sport’s most prestigious stages.
