The UFC’s worst kept secret may be that they don’t really enjoy having Tyron Woodley as one of their champions. What? For real?
Here’s the problem, Woodley speaks his mind and has no filter. If the UFC can’t control the message they’re not really interested in you. This falls in a different category than Mighty Mouse or Stipe Miocic not getting a push.
Nobody within the UFC would say it aloud, but would they have really been mad if Darren Till won? Sure Till is socially awkward but he won’t speak out of turn if he’s having issues with the UFC. Plus Till would have given the UFC a new star and if nothing less may be a new UK building block.
Woodley crushed all of the UFC’s hopes and dreams on Saturday night. Following UFC 228, Woodley is the face of the promotion’s welterweight division for at least six more months.
The face of UFC President Dana White during Woodley’s win, kind of sums it up. The look of disgust, anguish or pure sorrow on White’s face was undeniable. There is wearing your heart on your sleeve than there is whatever White was doing at UFC 228.
Look at that face. He’s going full Ralph Wiggum while he watches his Darren Till dreams crumble. We can almost pinpoint the exact moment where Dana’s heart breaks.
Sorry Dana, Tyron choo choo chooses you. UFC love can sometimes be a beautiful thing.
and after Tyron Wooldey is announced “and still”.
Cheer up Prez.
Dana White just made himself into a “you mad bro” meme and it’s awesome.
