Colby Covington Took His Interim Belt To Meet President Donald Trump
Interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington is die-hard Donald Trump supporter and promised he was going to meet him at the white house, on that UFC president Dana White said he would make that happen. So yes both men kept their words and visited Tump in the oval house today.
After his undeniably impressive win over Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 225, ‘Chaos’ wanted to present his belt to president Trump in the nation’s capital. As it turns out, Covington did get his meeting with Trump and posted a photo of himself with the President to his official Twitter account.
See it below:
“Promises made. Promises kept,” he wrote. “Pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. President. Thank you for always putting America first!”
Like @POTUS @realDonaldTrump always says: Promises made. Promises kept. Pleasure to finally meet you Mr. President. Thank you for always putting America first! #maga #GreatAmericanWinningMachine 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/yYZWkdd5wS

Not only Covington, but reports are that UFC president Dana White, UFC Hall of Famer Matt Serra and ‘Chao’s American Top Team coach, Dan Lambert all met with Trump. Dana White is also a big Donald Trump fan and the promoter at the 2016 Republican National Convention. White holds a friendly relationship with Trump since his old days when both work together to organize UFC events in Atlantic City, NJ.

Last week promotion announced that Covington would be stripped of his interim title when Tyron Woodley and top contender Darren Till begin to fight at UFC 228. Covington was unable to fight at the proposed date due to nasal surgery, and it appears as though UFC can’t wait longer for his injury to heal.
