Phil Davis returned from a two-year break to defeat Rob Wilkinson in a light heavyweight quarterfinal at PFL Orlando on May 1 2025. The 40-year-old, now 25-7, competed at Universal Studios in Florida. Wilkinson, a 33-year-old with a 19-4 record, lost his first fight since 2024. The Professional Fighters League event, aired on ESPN2, marked Davis’ first fight under the PFL banner.

How Davis Powered His Return to PFL Glory

Davis, a former Bellator light heavyweight champion and NCAA wrestling champion, stopped Wilkinson with punches at 51 seconds of Round 2. His last fight, a split decision loss to Corey Anderson in June 2023, followed a hiatus from 2021 to 2023 due to injuries.

Wilkinson, the 2022 PFL light heavyweight champion, could not withstand Davis’ striking. Davis advances to face Sullivan Cauley in the semifinals in June 2025, with a chance to earn a $500000 bonus as tournament winner, per PFL. Exact purses for this bout are undisclosed. The PFL Orlando card also featured Valentin Moldavsky defeating Sergey Bilostenniy.
