So it looks like Paulo Filho didn’t have passport problems in his canceled Dream 12 bout (despite what his mother said). Dude pulled a Karo Parysian and became addicted to sleeping pills sometime in-between Gegard Mousasi calling Filho a ‘donkey’ and Filho saying he goes fishing instead of regularly seeing his psychiatrist. That’s pretty baller for someone that has the words ‘Reward Hunter‘ tatted on his body. It’s like he unlocked an Xbox achievement and was like ‘Dude, this one deserves to be on my body for the rest of my life as a reminder of how nice I am with the Xbox’. Paulo Filho also rocks flannel shirts with the sleeves cut off because he’s ahead of his time. If we ever nabbed an interview with Paulo Filho, we would have to coordinate our sleeveless flannels for journalistic consistency. Check out what Terra Magazine said regarding Paulo Filho (translated by our second favorite Yankees fan).
“However, after beating the dangerous Dutch striker Melvin Manhoef in July in Japan, a resident of Rio Niterói only fought once again in a national event still lacked a commitment killed by a depression.
Paulão should have fought the Dream again in late October, but missed the event at the last minute. Officially claimed had failed to Japanese visa, but later revealed that the true cause of his absence was the depression.”
“Two years ago, the addiction to sleeping pills Paulão led to a depression which disturbs her to this day. During this period, Paulão lost the belt of World Extreme Cagefighting to an American wrestler infinitely inferior to him, the median Chael Sonnen.”
After his loss to the ‘infinitely inferior’ Soenen (got to love Brazilian writers), Filho came back to the MMA world rocking a million dollar bill on his stomach with a pitbull in the middle. When asked what it meant, he said the the pitbull represented himself. If you’re thinking ‘Why didnt Filho just get a picture of himself in the bill?’ then choke yourself out (before Paulo does it for you). Yeah it’s going to be on his body for the rest of his life but the dude is Brazilian. Let it slide. [Source]
