Paulo Costa In His ‘Prime Time’ Ahead Of UFC 278: ‘More Muscles Less Fat’

Costa appears to be in great shape and should have no weight issues ahead of his UFC 278 matchup with Luke Rockhold.

It appears there should be no concerns over Paulo Costa making weight next week.

Costa returns to action when he takes on Luke Rockhold in the UFC 278 co-headliner taking place August 20 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

It will be Costa’s first outing since his light heavyweight bout against Marvin Vettori back in October.

“The Eraser” was ultimately outpointed on the night, but what really drew headlines leading up to the fight was him missing weight by a large margin, switching up their originally-planned middleweight contest in the process.

UFC president Dana White would later state that Costa would no longer compete at middleweight.

Things have naturally changed since then as Costa is booked to face Rockhold in a 185-pound bout.

And based on his recent tweet, Costa won’t be having weight issues as he appears to be in better shape than ever.

“This time I have no injuries. I could surprised (even by me) beat my best weight until here. More muscles less fat . It’s just my prime time as I said . Unfortunately for all middleweight guys . God gave His grace and the knowledge to make something unbelievable.”

Paulo Costa Looking To Snap Losing Streak

Costa will be looking to change his fortunes against Rockhold.

The Brazilian suffered his first-ever defeat after a second-round TKO loss to Israel Adesanya in their middleweight title fight back in September 2020.

The setback to Vettori put Costa on a losing streak for the first time in his career.

An emphatic win over Rockhold would not only be one of the biggest for Costa and snap his current skid, but also put him right back into title contention.

With new management and being in better shape than ever, things appear promising.
