Patricio Pitbull has another UFC date, and it comes against one of the featherweight division’s most reliable action fighters.
Pitbull and Doo Ho Choi are set to meet at UFC 331 on Sept. 19 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The promotion has not announced the card’s main event yet.
The booking gives Pitbull a chance to steady his UFC run after a decision loss to Aaron Pico in April dropped him to 1-2 inside the Octagon.
Pitbull Gets Another Ranked Test
Pitbull entered the UFC as a former two-division Bellator champion after a 24-6 run with the promotion. His lone UFC win so far came by decision over Dan Ige, who spoke to MiddleEasy before that bout about facing Pitbull as a legend of the sport, while his most recent outing ended with Aaron Pico beating him by decision.
At 37-9, Pitbull still brings championship experience, but another UFC loss would make his featherweight reset harder. Choi gives him a ranked-style test against a fighter who has rebuilt momentum over the last two years.
Choi Brings Momentum
Choi is 17-4-1 and has won three straight fights since 2024. That run includes stoppages of Bill Algeo and Nate Landwehr, who previewed his Choi matchup with MiddleEasy before their UFC 310 meeting, followed by a May knockout of Daniel Santos that earned him a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
The South Korean featherweight’s 2016 bout with Cub Swanson was later inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. A win over a former Bellator champion would extend his current streak and move him closer to the top of the division.
For UFC 331, the pairing gives the Los Angeles card an experienced featherweight matchup while the rest of the event continues to take shape.
