Miesha Tate will do anything to dig at Ronda Rousey. You know this, I know this and the whole MMA world knows this. That’s why she jumped at the chance to say that she would fight Cyborg at a catchweight if the fight was offered to her. Why she’d volunteer for what would likely be an automatic loss may be besides the point. Her volunteering for this sure-to-be losing battle is a perfect soundbite to fuel the flames of a pointless and currently non-existent rivalry that Miesha thinks actually matters. Face it, Miesha; Ronda beats you ten out of ten times. This is the closest you’ll ever get to a win over her.
Here’s the quote from a Fan Q&A at the Mall of Asia arena, transcribed by MMAMania:
“That’s my job. I have to fight anyone they put in front of me and obviously I’m not scared of anyone. So yes, I would, but I heard Cyborg is signed to fight at 135, so I would prefer to fight her in my weight class. If they had a 125, I’d like to go down, but they don’t, so it’s 135 for me.”
Fascinating stuff.
