Paige VanZant made her debut in the UFC flyweight division opposite Jessica-Rose Clark in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 124 at St. Louis on January 14.
Though Paige VanZant hung in there for the duration, she was defeated by her larger foe for the majority of the fight, surrendering a unanimous decision as a result.
As a result of this loss, Paige VanZant has dropped two straight and three of her past four.
Paige VanZant says the injury was caused by the spinning backfist she landed in the early moments of the second round.
VanZant’s lasting three rounds against Jessica Clark was pretty exceptional. Between the second and third rounds, Paige told her corner that she doubted she broke her arm in the first, and a post-fight x-ray showed this to be true.

The flyweight Paige was promptly brought to the hospital right after the fight, where she shares an x-ray of her broken right arm on social media.
Well… I broke my arm in the first! I was able to finish the fight but as you can see, had a hard recovering and throwing my right. I’ll be back better and stronger than ever! it’s all apart of the fight game. God had other plans for me. darn spinning back fist.
With this win, Clark, improves to a win-loss slate of 9-4, with one no contest and four wins by stoppage.
