  • Paddy Pimblett reacted to Ilia Topuria’s win and claimed he could beat the featherweight champ
  • “The Baddy” wants to see Alexander Volkanovski rematch “El Matafor” but is willing to step up if “The Great” doesn’t get it done

Paddy Pimblett is very confident about beating Ilia Topuria and also thinks Alexander Volkanovski would also beat “El Matador” in his return.

Paddy set his sights on Ilia

Speaking on his YouTube channel while watching the UFC 308 main event, “The Baddy” congratulated Topuria for such a historic knockout win over Max Holloway. However, Pimblett was still not that impressed by “El Matador.” In fact, Pimblett believes he could stop the featherweight champ, especially on the ground.

“Heavy. Hand sanitizer boy with the win,” Pimblett said. “Heavy. Well done, Ilia, give you your due lad, 16-0 hand sanitizer boy. I can’t wait for him to come back up to Lightweight. I still think I’d beat him. I really do. I still think I beat him, lad. Whether he just beat Max Holloway or not. I still think I’d beat him by kicking him on the feet or taking him down and submitting him but I genuinely think I’d beat him. Congrats Ilia Topuria. Well done, son. Congratulations, lad… Obviously, hand sanitizer knocked Holloway out. Didn’t see that coming, but give him his due, good finish. Max was the better boxer, but Ilia’s the better swinger, isn’t he? He ended up catching him with them big shots on the button, so Congrats fella.”

Paddy is willing to do it after Volk

For Pimblett, a dream showdown with Topuria is unlikely to happen soon. Instead, “The Baddy” thinks Volkanovski would get his rematch first. However, Pimblett said he would be open to facing “El Matador” if Volk fails.

“Can’t wait for Volk to come back and beat you up and if he doesn’t, I’m willing to anytime,” Pimblett concluded.

Pimblett has been enjoying a six-fight winning streak. His latest victory was a submission win over Bobby Green at UFC 304.
