Paddy Pimblett has shocked fans by revealing he gained 42 pounds in just one week after his big win at UFC 314. The lightweight star, who beat Michael Chandler on April 12, 2025, in Miami, shared details about his eating habits in a recent interview. Now ranked No. 8 in the UFC lightweight division, Pimblett explained how his weight balloons differently in the USA compared to his home in the UK.
Pimblett weighed in at 156 pounds for his fight at the Kaseya Center, where he dominated Chandler with a third-round TKO. Just seven days later, he tipped the scales at 198 pounds.
“On Sunday, I had about five milkshakes,” Pimblett shared in an interview with Bruce Buffer. “After the fight, literally.” He added, “So, I think this morning I woke up at like 198 pounds, which is fat. Yeah, that’s about the heaviest I get. I don’t ever really touch 200, only if I’m in the States.”
Pimblett Explains Why He Gains More Weight in the USA
Pimblett went on to describe how his eating experiences differ between the USA and the UK.
“In the States, that food, it makes me into a machine. I’m just massive in the States. But, when I’m back in the UK, the highest I’ll reach is like 195, something like that,” he said.
He pointed out portion sizes as a big factor.
“Just the servings. The amount of food and just even the drinks, because in the UK, if I go to a restaurant and order a Coca-Cola, I just get that one Coca-Cola,” Pimblett explained. “In the States, there’s still that much of my Coca-Cola left, and they come over and take it and put a brand new one down. I’m just like, ‘I’ve got a full Coke.’”
The 30-year-old fighter has a history of gaining weight between fights, often enjoying food after the tough weight cuts for lightweight bouts. His win over Chandler marked his seventh straight UFC victory, bringing him closer to a potential title shot. However, his rapid weight gain might make short-notice fights tricky, as some reports suggest. For now, Pimblett seems to be enjoying his post-fight celebration, leaving fans wondering how he’ll manage his weight as he prepares for his next challenge in the octagon.
