Paddy is coming for Islam
Islam Makhachev is closely watching the progress of the top lightweight contenders to single out which among them truly deserves to be his next challenger. For the reigning champion, “The Baddy” could certainly be one but only if he manages to continue winning.
“When he deserve, why not? If he won couple next matches, when he’s gonna be in top 10, why not?,” Makhachev said of Pimblett’s potential as a title challenger.

It didn’t take long for Pimblett to react. In his response, “The Baddy” sent a powerful message to Makhachev.
“Did you see that where Islam was talking about me the other day?” Pimblett said. “‘He’s an exciting fighter,’ and that ‘if he keeps winning you never know, he could fight for the belt,’ and that. You know Islam, we’re coming. We’re coming brother, we’re coming.”
Pimblett’s submission win over Green marked his sixth straight win under the UFC banner. He now has a pro MMA record of 22-3 and is currently ranked No. 15 in the lightweight division.
