Paddy Pimblett has once again amazed fans with his ability to transform his body for a fight. The UFC lightweight star known as ‘The Baddy’ shared a detailed video on May 1 2025 showing how he lost 40 pounds to make the 155-pound limit for his UFC 314 bout against Michael Chandler. This fight took place on April 12 2025 at the Kaseya Center in Miami Florida where Pimblett delivered a dominant performance.
How Pimblett Dropped 40 Pounds for Fight Night
In the video Pimblett walks viewers through his weight cut journey from the start of his training camp to the official weigh-in day. He began camp at least 40 pounds over the lightweight limit which means he was around 195 pounds. With less than three weeks until fight night he got down to 175 pounds despite facing some early challenges with his weight not dropping as quickly as he hoped. Two days before the weigh-in he reached 170 pounds a spot his team felt was ideal for the final push. The night before the weigh-in he was just a couple of pounds over the limit. On the morning of the weigh-in Pimblett hit 156 pounds which was acceptable for a non-title lightweight fight.
Surprisingly Pimblett called this one of his easiest weight cuts ever. His hard work paid off as he went on to defeat Michael Chandler a former three-time Bellator champion in the co-main event of UFC 314. Pimblett won by third-round TKO at 3 minutes and 7 seconds improving his UFC record to 7 wins and 0 losses. This victory has placed him firmly in the conversation for a future lightweight title shot.
Pimblett is known for his dramatic weight changes often gaining a lot of weight between fights. After UFC 314 he revealed he gained over 40 pounds in just a week reaching around 198 pounds. He admitted to enjoying five milkshakes the day after the fight which contributed to his rapid weight gain. This pattern of gaining and losing weight has drawn attention but Pimblett has consistently made the lightweight limit for his UFC fights.
The video not only highlights Pimblett’s discipline but also his ability to perform under pressure. His win over Chandler a seasoned fighter and longtime contender has solidified his place among the top lightweights in the UFC.
