Overeem is OUT against Junior dos Santos at UFC 160, Mark Hunt willing to step IN!

Alistair Overeem is OUT of his fight against Junior dos Santos at UFC 160

If MMA reporting was a marathon, Ariel Helwani is going to need about fourteen gallons of Pedialyte injected into his veins after today’s over. Along with the announcement that Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman and Mark Munoz vs. Tim Boetsch at UFC 162 (along with a few other fight announcements we don’t feel like mentioning here), he’s also reporting that Alistair Overeem is injured and will not be able to fight Junior dos Santos at UFC 160.

Now you just wait one friggin’ minute, buddy.

Ariel contacted Mark Hunt regarding a potential fight with JDS, and here’s what he said.

“If I get the call for the fight, I’m there, of course,” Hunt told MMAFighting.com Wednesday night, “and the fans are crazy for it, so it’s good.”

“Sounds like a pretty good idea to me,” Hunt said in his typical casual way. “I’m not injured. I’m always down for a battle.

I was born down. You know this.”

I guess the real question is how high should we move up Mark Hunt in the MiddleEasy Frate Trane List after his willingness to accept a late-notice bout against the former UFC heavyweight champion?
