Outrage Ensues as Boxers Who Failed Gender Tests Cleared to Compete at 2024 Paris Olympics, Claressa Shields and Ebanie Bridges Speak Out

It’s been one controversy after another for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

After a grossly misinterpreted depiction of the feast of Dionysus was mistaken for a controversial take on da Vinci’s Last Supper, the 33rd Olympiad is now under fire for clearing two boxers to compete.

Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu‑ting of Taiwan failed gender eligibility tests and were disqualified from the Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi last year. Despite that, Khelif and Lin are both eligible to compete in Paris as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) no longer recognizes sanctioning from the International Boxing Association (IBA) due to multiple “irregularity issues.”

Khelif and Yu‑ting reportedly returned XY chromosomes in their IBA tests, which is typically the male chromosome, rather than a female’s XX. Still, the pair will compete in the women’s 66kg and 57kg contests this week despite pushback from Australian boxing captain Caitlin Parker who believes the IOC is setting an “incredibly dangerous” precedent.

“I don’t agree with them being allowed to compete in sport, especially combat sports,” Parker said in a statement via MMA Mania. “It can be incredibly dangerous. I don’t agree with it. It’s not like I haven’t sparred men before. But you know it can be dangerous for combat sports and it should be seriously looked into.”

“Yes, biologically … genetically they are going to have more advantages and in combat sports it can be dangerous,” Parker continued. “I really hope the organizations get their act together so that boxing can continue to be at the Olympics. It’s the oldest Olympic sport. Women’s boxing was only introduced in 2012 and I want to see it for the next 100, 200 years to come.”

Boxing ‘GWOAT’ Claressa Shields and Others Slam IOC for ‘Heartbreaking’ Olympics Decision

Claressa Shields, the undisputed ‘GWOAT’ of boxing, called it a heartbreaking situation for biological women.

“So they got men fighting against women in the @Olympics boxing! I wouldn’t have stood for no stuff like that! That is so heartbreaking to the women who have to have their dreams ruined by a man,” Shields wrote on X. “Sad asf!”

British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn offered his take on the situation, admitting that he doesn’t know the full story, but believes it should come down to one very simple detail.

“I don’t know if there is even a debate. I don’t know enough about the situation, about the athletes, who and what not,” Hearn told Boxing Social. “But the only thing I will say is, in my opinion, if you are born male, you should not be competing against females. That’s my bread-and-butter opinion.”

‘Blonde Bomber’ Ebanie Bridges also shared her uncensored opinion, slamming the IOC and anybody born a male who is attempting to compete against biological women.

“Bruh… these transgenders competing in women’s boxing AT THE OLYMPICS… male born transgenders, is f***en sickening,” she posted on X. “It’s f***en disgusting that the Olympic committee would let these guys/girls who still look like men compete against women.

“And these biological men who want to compete in women’s boxing must be saddists or something cos any man knows how much stronger they are than females and it’s also why a man hitting a women is so bad.. the biological difference IS REAL. What the f**k. Honestly unbelievable and sick.”
