ONE FC: Rise of Kings is filled with championship title goodness

Don’t let ONE FC’s next event ‘Rise of Kings’ confuse you with the 1994 futuristic fighting game ‘Rise of the Robots.’ The game takes place in the year 2043 when computers essentially run every form of government on the planet and a megacorporation called ‘Electrocorp’ leads the world’s progression in science and technology. The company created a super computer called Supervisor which has the ability to control all things within Electrocorp. A virus infects Supervisor and all of computers and robots in the facility suddenly become self-aware. The government quarantines Electrocorp’s facility and sends out a lone robot to gain control over Electrocorp and get revenge for the ‘death of his father’ — since the robot’s ‘brain’ was cloned from that of the dead CEO. Sure it’s a complex story and if you want to read more about it, feel free to do so — but luckily for MMA fans, ONE FC: Rise of Kings is drastically less complex than the plot of ‘Rise of the Robots.’

By the end of October 6th, the MMA world will see ONE FC’s first lightweight belt be awarded in a title fight between Evolve MMA’s Zoro Moreira and Kotetsu Boku. Most of you were expecting Ole Laursen or Eduard Folayang to go toe-to-toe with Zoro for the lightweight strap, but as Gus Johnson said ‘sometimes these things happen in MMA.’ ONE FC will also award their first bantamweight title in scrap between Leandro Issa and former RisingOn champion, Soo Chul Kim. The organization also plans to kick off a bantamweight tournament at ONE FC: Rise of Kings with Jens Pulver taking on China’s Zhao Ya Fei and Min Jung Song vs. Masakatsu Ueda. ONE FC plans to announce two other tournament bouts early next week. Oh yeah, two guys by Melvin Manhoef and Shinya Aoki will also be on the card. See, DREAM never die.

Now check out this promo for ONE FC: Rise of Kings since I wouldn’t expect you to take in all that information without something visual to go with it.
