Omigawa vs. Escovedo and Wicky vs. Ishida added to Dream 16

Japanese promoters put their fightcards together much like how I ruffle through menus when deciding what I want delivered for lunch. I tend to gravitate towards tacos the same way JMMA loves to throw Aoki, Omigawa, and Sakuraba on any given fight card. They don’t even have to fight. If we were told they were going to stand in the middle of the ring and recite a dissertations on the origins of the Technicolor-spectrum, we would still watch it and Babelfish the translation once the transcript is posted on the UG later that week.

Unfortunately, Joe Warren is unable to bang against Omigawa because he suffered far too much damage in the firstround of his title fight with Joe Soto. It’s a fight all hardcore MMA fans were looking forward to, but according to the official Dream website, stepping in to replace him is WEC Veteran Cole Escovedo (and winner of the number one spot on our staph infection list). Combine that with Wicky vs. Ishida, Aoki vs. Aurelio, Saku vs. Mayhem, and Takaya vs. Beebe, Dream 16 just became the ultimate bento box-o-rawesomite and it goes down in less than two weeks. That gives you just enough time to visit Costco for a 36-pack of Red Bull and an econo-box of Hot Pockets to keep you awake on September 25th. Don’t buy anything healthy or perishable, that’s not what Dan Quinn would do. [Source]
