Sean O’Malley Refuses To Corner ‘Funny Little Poodle’ Petr Yan At UFC 273

'Suga' says he won't be helping Petr Yan in his next fight.

Sean O’Malley won’t be cornering Petr Yan after all.

‘Suga’ had hilariously agreed to team-up with Yan, after some of his cornermen had their visas denied. With his team unable to get into the United States, O’Malley offered to help the interim bantamweight champion at UFC 273 in Jacksonville. Heck, he even learned a bit of Russian to ‘advise’ Yan.

However, just like Henry Cejudo, this wouldn’t pan out.

O’Malley Doesn’t Care About Yan

On Tuesday, O’Malley and Cejudo would confirm that they weren’t cornering Yan. Cejudo said there was ‘too much illegal activity’ around cornering Yan. On the other hand, O’Malley’s reason was that he ultimately didn’t care about Yan winning.

“I wouldn’t corner that f*cking [dude],” O’Malley said on his podcast. “What would I [say]? I don’t care if he wins. [I’d] just stare at him the whole time.”

‘Funny Little Poodle’

Instead of giving ice and water to Yan in his corner, ‘Suga’ would much rather face off with him. It is his ‘dream fight’ for crying out loud.

“I like Petr though. He’s a funny little poodle. I wanna square up with him.”

O’Malley might be far from fighting Yan, especially if he wins the undisputed title from Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273. Whatever the case may be, he won’t witness the fight from cageside on Saturday. Neither will ‘coach of the year’ candidate Henry Cejudo.

Both rivals of the Russian have opted out of the potential opportunity for the one-of-a-kind team-up. The UFC stars are not the Beatles, so they wouldn’t exactly ‘come together’ despite their history.
