Now that Rockhold is injured and Cormier is opponentless, Strikeforce’s November card is looking pretty bleak

Let me go on record to say that any card with Bobby Green and Tim Kennedy is worth watching — and according to Strikforce’s official website, that may be the only fights that we will see on November 3rd. Well, technically Daniel Cormier is fighting that always elusive ‘TBD’ and a scrap between Sara MaMann and Liz Carmouche has been inked into the event. However, according to a report from Rob Tatum of The MMA Corner, Luke Rockhold is out of his title defense against Lorenz Larkin due to a wrist injury sustained in training.

If the rumor is true that Strikeforce: Cormier vs. TBD (seriously, that’s the official title of the card at the moment) will be canceled, this would mark the second consecutive Strikeforce bout to be canceled, a first in the promotion’s history.

While the main and the co-main event are in jeopardy, MMA fans need to realize that if Strikeforce didn’t exist, Jorge Masvidal vs. Bobby Green would be another installment in our ‘A Lesson in Street MMA’ series. Keep in mind that when Kimbo Slice reigned supreme on the streets of Florida and on YouTube, Jorge Masvidal was right there — and actually defeated Slice’s protege despite being 20 lbs lighter than his opponent. That’s right, Masvidal ran the street circuits of Florida before you even knew what Pride FC was. As far as, Bobby Green — the guy’s official fighting style is something called ‘Hood.’

Here’s MiddleEasy’s official suggestion, Showtime. Scrap the main and co-main event, make Bobby Green vs. Jorge Masvidal the headliner and then just let Waachiim Spiritwolf and Marius Zaromskis fight until they get tired. If by some strange occurrence one of those guys gets knocked out, just let us fill the rest of the show with a roundtable debate about a hypothetical tournament between DC Comic and Marvel heroes. At the end of the day, a motivated Green Lantern defeats everyone. Prove me wrong — exactly, you can’t.
