And just like that, Bo Nickal is back.

The three-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion will make his sequel UFC appearance this summer when he takes on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ Season 29 finalist Tresean Gore. The middleweight matchup is close to being finalized for UFC 290 on July 8th during International Fight Week, sources told Middle Easy on Wednesday.

The Lead-Up

Nickal makes his return right after a quick win in his UFC debut against Jamie Pickett at UFC 285 earlier this month. The 27 year-old snatched a first-round submission victory to improve to a perfect 4-0 as a professional. He earned his UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series after two straight first-round finishes.

With his wrestling credentials, the 27 year-old Nickal is regarded as one of MMA’s brightest prospects. He’ll look to shine again when he tests his mettle against Gore.

Like Nickal, Gore is also coming off his first win inside the UFC. In his latest outing, ‘Mr. Vicious’ violently submitted Josh Fremd with a guillotine in October. The finish would rack up Gore a performance of the night bonus amounting to $50K.

After a rough start for the TUF 29 finalist in the Octagon, Gore will try to make it two in a row as he looks to upset the highly-touted Nickal in Las Vegas, come July.
