Nick Diaz missed his drug test, may be off the Strikeforce card

What hasn’t been said about Nick Diaz that hasn’t already been said about Cheech and Chong’s Up in Smoke? Nick Diaz openly admits that he smokes weed and that fact alone should automatically place him in your ‘List of fighters I want to see Ice Age 3 with stoned’. He actually says that smoking weed is all ‘part of his plan’ which apparently seems to work since the dude has been flawless in his last five fights. We would applaud Nick Diaz if he ever invited us over for a late night session, unfortunately Joe Rogan has constantly beaten us to it.

It looks like Nick Diaz has missed his pre-fight drug test for the Strikeforce welterweight title fight against Jay Hieron and there is a good chance that he may be forced to drop out of the card:

“Diaz was scheduled to take a pre-fight drug test tonight in order to get licensed and no showed. Caesar Gracie stated Wednesday that Diaz would appear for the test tonight in Sacramento. Neither Diaz nor Caesar showed up for the test and representatives for Diaz said Diaz was “busy training”.

Because of the time required to get test results back, CSAC believes the test would have had to be taken tonight. Strikeforce was contacted and promised Diaz would appear for the test Monday. CSAC has agreed to this new date but has stated there is a good chance test results will not be back in time to license him for the show.”

Another papercut for Strikeforce. If this happens it will be like the 720,000 person that has been forced to drop out of the Strikeforce: Carano/Cyborg card due to suspicious drugs or Dutch bathroom brawls. This is what Diaz had to say about drug testing and urinating (good combination):

“I can pass a drug test in eight days with herbal cleansers. I drink 10 pounds of water and sweat out 10 pounds of water every day. I’ll be fine.”

If Nick Diaz isn’t one of your favorite fighters by now then you should go back to your freshman year of college and learn a thing or two about the phrase ‘Puff, Puff, Pass’. [Source]
