Nick Diaz has vacated his Strikeforce title

Well it’s official, Nick Diaz is a full blown UFC fighter and has vacated his Strikeforce welterweight title to face GSP. Although it seems he can fight in Strikeforce if he wants, but why would he? The Strikeforce belt now resides either in the back of his beat up Honda, or at the bottom of a hamper covered by his triathalon gear and some Metal Mulisha t-shirts that smell like old skunks.

All of this means a few different things depending on who you ask; Paul Daley is definitely happy, Tyron Woodley is pleased, but I don’t think I’m alone in saying that Jason High vs Zaromskis II is what we should really get out of this whole situation.

Dana White announced all of this today:

“He will give up the title, he will give up his Strikeforce title,”  “He will come in and fight Georges St-Pierre, two guys will fight for the vacant belt in Strikeforce and we’ll go from there.”

If he can fight in Strikeforce, what if he beats GSP then decides to go back to the house Scott Coker built? I don’t think he would…but what if?
