Nick Diaz, the Stockton, California MMA veteran, has given fans a hopeful update from a rehab facility in Mexico, signaling that his return home is approaching.
Earlier this year, Diaz was at the center of a viral post by his former partner claiming he was forcibly taken to rehab. Those allegations were quickly denied by Diaz’s coaches and teammates, and recent updates have steadily clarified the situation.
Diaz Addresses Fans Directly
In a video sent to his strength and conditioning coach, Jose Garcia, Diaz spoke directly to supporters.
“I’m currently focused on my health, and I’ll be home soon,” Diaz said, adding shout-outs to friends and family who have supported him.
Diaz has not competed in the Octagon since 2021, when he faced Robbie Lawler in a bout he later admitted he entered despite ruptured discs in his neck. Financial pressures and limited preparation influenced that decision, and attempts to return in 2024 against Vicente Luque were repeatedly postponed or canceled.
Since then, Diaz has quietly exited the UFC and appears to be stepping away from professional competition for the time being. Fans can take comfort in his latest update, which emphasizes recovery and wellness.
