Nate Diaz and Mike Perry are set to make a big return to mixed martial arts. Their five-round welterweight fight will take place on May 16 at Intuit Dome. This bout will join a triple-headliner card featuring Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano and Francis Ngannou vs Philipe Lins.
Diaz spoke about his comeback:
“Glad to be back in action. It’s time. Don’t forget where this all came from. I got plans on doing a lot more in the next 10 years, no matter where it is. Time to set the bar again, so get ready for a new takeover again and again until the end of time.”
Perry also shared his thoughts, saying:
“The King of Violence returns to MMA to elbow his opponent in the f*cking face. Saturday, May 16th, on Netflix, Nate Diaz is going lights out.”
Nate Diaz last fought in MMA at UFC 279 in September 2022, submitting Tony Ferguson. That fight completed his UFC contract. Since then, Diaz competed in boxing, winning a decision over Jorge Masvidal and losing to Jake Paul.
Mike Perry, known as the “King of Violence,” last competed in MMA in April 2021, losing a decision to Daniel Rodriguez. He moved to bare-knuckle boxing, where he is 6-0 in BKFC and holds the championship.
