UFC welterweight Nate Diaz crossed paths with TikTok sensation Bryce Hall at a gym in California.
Social media star Bryce Hall has been training as he looks to make his return to the boxing ring. In his most recent outing against Austin McBroom, Hall was knocked out in the third round by Austin McBroom last summer. As he got done with his training at the gym next door, he was invited by Diaz for a grappling session.
Nate Diaz trains with Bryce Hall
Hall has a wrestling background from his secondary school days and displayed his wrestling prowess in the session. Having some combat sports experience certainly helped Hall but not much in a jiu-jitsu training session, especially with a black belt in Nate Diaz.
Making a move over to boxing from social media, Hall has stayed active over the last year-and-a-half since agreeing to his fight with McBroom last June. He has been competing under the popular promotion Triller, known for putting together celebrity exhibition bouts.
In a video uploaded on his Snapchat, Bryce Hall shared more details about his recent training session with Nate Diaz.
“Really random thing that happened to me today; we just did a late workout at zoo culture and there’s this random jiu-jitsu and boxing gym next door. I see Nate Diaz, and being the fanboy that I am I walk up and he tells me to train with him.
“So I actually ended up saying yes because you can’t say not to Nate Diaz when he asks you to train. I sparred Nate Diaz, wrestled Nate Diaz and he just kept putting me in submissions, so that was just my today. It was a real ‘life is a simulation’ type vibe.”
Diaz submits Hall multiple times
Hall took to his Instagram to share a brief video of his sparring session with Diaz. The TikToker can be seen trying to land a takedown on the Stockton native but kept getting put into submissions.
Along with Hall, Diaz has also been calling for a return fight. Having last fought against Leon Edwards in June 2021, Diaz has remained out of action despite numerous callouts. Dustin Poirier was expected to be a good matchup for the younger Diaz but the UFC shut down all talks quickly.
Diaz reportedly turned down a fight against Khamzat Chimaev as the promotion appears to conspire for a third showdown against Conor McGregor.
