Nate Diaz says he ‘fought like garbage’ last night

We love Nate Diaz, even if he hates talking on the phone with people. Our dude Cameron Dollar said that if he had to assemble a team of X-men, he would pick both of the Diaz brothers to be on his squad. After last night’s loss to Gray Maynard it was reported that Nate Diaz just walked out of the cage, hopped in his car and left. He was later spotted at a Circle K using the hot water from the coffee machine to make Top Ramen (seriously). On the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu website, Nate Diaz has issued a statement and it involves him going up a weight-class.

“I fought like garbage and I’m sorry to my fans for my performance. I was hesitant about throwing hard punches because I kept thinking he was going to go for a takedown. It looked like I was knocked down in the second but actually he stepped on my foot and when I tried to back out I slipped. I really don’t think I’m going to stay at 155lbs. I don’t make enough money to have to drop this much weight so I’d like to fight at 170 and only go to 55’s every once in awhile. You know if you look at his face compared to mine right now you’d think there was no way he beat me in a fight but I’ve never been too popular with the judges.”

Actually Nate, we have looked at Gray Maynard’s face and you may have a point. It’s also important to note that out of Nate Diaz’s nine fights in the UFC, six of them have been at a UFC Fight Night. Dude is like the Lil Jon of MMA (in that he’s been on a lot of fight night cards much like Lil Jon has been on a lot of…ah screw it, bad analogy). [Source]
