Nate Diaz Did Not Appear At UFC 241 Media Day

If there is one thing that the Diaz brothers have made clear, it’s that they severely dislike doing interviews. Nate Diaz continued that trend today, by no showing at the UFC 241 media day.

Diaz is scheduled to take on former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, in the UFC 241 co-main event. This bout is highly anticipated, as it is Diaz’s first fight since 2016, when he lost a majority decision to Conor McGregor. There is also interest in whether or not Diaz can be a standalone star, separate from McGregor.

One thing is for sure, however; big star or not, Diaz is forever going to be himself. At the open workouts yesterday, he sparked up a CBD joint, in typical Diaz fashion. However, today he announced that he would be not attending the media day, like the rest of the fighters competing at the event.

This announcement was made by Ariel Helwani, via a message from Nate Diaz’s representative, Zach Rosenfield.

“Nate Diaz will not be attending today’s media day in Anaheim.

‘Nate addressed the media at length yesterday after open workouts covering all topics,’ Zach Rosenfield, a spokesperson for Diaz, told ESPN.

UFC is aware of Diaz’s decision.”

This is not the first time Diaz has skipped out on press obligations. In fact, it seems to have become a Diaz brother tradition. However, the fact that the UFC was made aware of this decision is good news. This means it is unlikely he will be pulled from the card. Additionally, it is very much like Nate to say he already answered too many questions.

All things considered, it seems like the fans will be happy, so long as Nate Diaz makes it to the cage on Saturday night.
