Former UFC contender Muhammad Mokaev was admitted to a hospital after being involved in a serious car crash in Dagestan, Russia.
‘The Punisher’ has hit a string of bad luck as of late. Despite carrying a 12-0 record—7 of those victories coming under the UFC banner—Mokaev was unceremoniously let go from the company after CEO Dana White indicated that the top-10-ranked contender had been most difficult to work with behind the scenes.
His hotel brawl with Manel Kape hours before their clash at UFC 304 certainly didn’t help things.
According to the Russian news outlet Mash, Moaev was involved in a major accident while visiting his family. Eyewitnesses revealed that the flyweight fighter was pulled from the vehicle at the scene and dispatched to a local medical facility.
“[Mokaev] was traveling with a friend to his family. … Mercedes-Benz AMG A35… flew into the ditch after the collision — left wing and wheel crushed, the windshield cracked, the back was preserved,” the report revealed. Eyewitnesses pulled a fighter from the — salon, he asked them not to photograph him.”

The PFL May Still Be Interested in Signing Muhammad Mokaev After Their Initial Disinterest
Despite his reputation for being a “pain in the ass” to work with, there are a lot of options for Mokaev in the world of MMA. Despite PFL president Ray Sefo suggesting there was no interest in signing him, CEO Peter Murray told Sherdog.com that Mokaev “could absolutely be the future face of flyweights.”
Rumors have also swirled that Mokaev may have already re-signed with BRAVE CF, the promotion he called home before making his UFC debut in 2022.
